Judith Kliban is the ex-wife of Bill Bixby. Judith Kliban’s ex-husband Bixby was a popular American actor, director, and producer. He is also a frequent game-show panelist. His career spanned more than three decades, including appearances on stage, in films, and on television series.

How did Judith Kliban and Bill Bixby Meet?

How did the former two love birds meet? According to some sources, Judith Kliban and Bill Bixby met in 1992, through Bill Bixby’s friends. The couple made a connection and started dating a few days later. They eventually got married in October 1993.

They got married in a beautiful ceremony in the presence of their friends, family, and loved ones. However, their marriage didn’t last forever. They called their marriage a quit just six weeks before he collapsed on the set of Blossom. The couple did not have any children.

Wilfred Bailey Everett Bixby was born on January 22, 1934, in San Francisco. He is professionally known as Bill Bixby an American actor, director, and producer, and was a frequent game-show panelist.

He was the only child of Wilfred Bailey Everett Bixby II, a store clerk, and Jane (née McFarland) Bixby, a senior manager at. Magnin & Co. When Judith Kliban’s ex-husband was eight years old, his father enlisted in the Navy during World War II and traveled to the South Pacific, in 1942.

Bixby attended Grace Cathedral and sang in the church’s choir, while he was in the seventh grade. In one incident, Judith Kliban’s ex-husband shot the bishop with a slingshot during service and got kicked out of the choir. 

In 1946, he was encouraged by his mother to take ballroom dance lessons and from then he started dancing around the city. He attended Lowell High School, that is where he perfected his oratory and dramatic skills as a member of the Lowell Forensic Society, and he competed in high school speech tournaments regionally, even though he received average grades. 

He went against his parent’s wishes and he majored in drama at City College of San Francisco, after graduation from high school in 1952. Rather than report to the United States Army, Bixby joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve. During the Korean War, Bixby was drafted shortly after his 18th birthday. 

He attended his parents’ alma mater, the University of California, Berkeley, and left just a few credits short of earning a degree. After then he moved to Hollywood, California, where he had a string of odd jobs that included bellhop and lifeguard. 

 Actress Brenda Benet was the first wife of Bixby. They were married in 1971, and they divorced in 1980. She gave birth to their son, Christopher, in September 1974. Months later, in March 1981, six-year-old Christopher died while on a skiing vacation at Mammoth Lakes with Benet. He went into cardiac arrest after doctors inserted a breathing tube when he suffered acute epiglottitis. Benet killed herself the following year.

 Bixby met his second wife, Laura Michaels, who worked on the set of one of his Hulk movies, in 1989. They got married a year later in Hawaii. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer, In 1991 and went under treatment. And they got divorced in the same year.

He then married Judith Kliban who was the widow of the cartoonist B. Kliban. Judith and Bixby got married in October 1993, but then just six weeks before he collapsed on the set of Blossom.

In early 1993, when rumors of his health began to go about, Bixby told the public about his health conditions and appeared in several shows such as Entertainment Tonight, Today, Good Morning America, and others.

 Judith Kliban’s ex-husband, Bixby died of complications from prostate cancer in Century City, Los Angeles, six days after his final assignment on Blossom on 21 November 1993. Bixby died at 59 years old.
