Bill Demms is a businessman and the ex-husband of the American actress Leslie Charleson. Bill Demms’ ex-wife, Charleson is a popular actress who is known for her roles in General Hospital (1963), Kung Fu (1972), and Cannon (1971). She graced the screens of many Americans in the mid-90s.

How did Bill Demms and his Wife Leslie Charleson meet?

The couple have not given an account of the events that lead to their paths crossing and eventually their marriage. Though we do not know how they met or how their dating life was, what we know is they got married on 1st April 1988 and exchanged vows at the United Church of Christ, located in Rowayton Connecticut in the presence of their friends, family, and loved ones.

Bill Demms and his wife’s marriage lasted for only three years and filed for divorce in 1991. Bill Demms and his wife were not blessed with any children so they could move on to their various paths without any problem.

Leslie Charleson is an American born on February 22, 1945, she is best known for her role as Monica Quartermaine in the ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital. Bill Demms’s ex-wife was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She has an actress sister called Kate Charleson.

She started her career on ABC daytime soap opera A Flame in the Wind in 1964. She joined the cast of As the World Turns in 1966. She starred in CBS soap opera Love Is a Many Splendored Thing from 1967 to 1970. She had the role of Iris Donnelly Garrison. The character was part of the many popular love triangles with David Birney and Donnas Mills.

She played the role of the doctor’s daughter in the Wild Wild West in the episode “The Night of Fire and Brimstone” in 1968. She was also a star guest on many series from 1970 to 1977, which includes  Adam-12; Emergency!; Ironside; Marcus Welby, M.D.; Happy Days; Cannon; The Streets of San Francisco; and The Rockford Files.

She has also had a supporting role science-fiction film The Day of the Dolphin in 1973 and she co-starred opposite  Shelley Winters in the television thriller Revenge!  Leslie Charleson had some leading roles which were unsuccessful television pilots.

On 16 August 1977, Leslie Charleson returned to daytime television in the role of Monica Quartermaine in the ABC soap opera General Hospital. Fred Silverman, who was the then-president of ABC, asked her to join the series, which was at the bottom and was about to get canceled.

She replaced Patsy Rahn as Monica Quartermaine, a doctor caught between her husband Jeff Webber and his back-from-the-dead brother, and the love of her life Rick Webber. 

Bill Demms’s ex-wife was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series four times because she performed long on the show.
