Benjamin Thomas Womack’s mother, Samantha was born in Brighton, East Sussex, England on November 2, 1972, to Noel Janus and Diana O’Hanlon. Her father was a singer and a songwriter while her mother was a model and an actress.
Her father left when she was age 6 and her mother got married to a doctor and they relocated to Edinburgh. She attended the same school as members of All Saints, sisters Nicole and Natalie Appleton, and also attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.

Benjamin Womack’s mom has worked in film, television, and stage and made her name with her role as Mandy Wilkins in the mid-1990s, in Game On leading onto roles in the BBC One drama Pie in the Sky (1995–1996) and the sitcom Babes in the Wood (1998).
She is well-known for playing the role of Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders (2007–2011, 2013–2017) and she has gained recognition, prominence, and more acting roles after her portrayal as Ronnie. She appeared in episodes of The Bill and Press Gang and in 1993 she appeared in Demob with Griff Rhys Jones and Martin Clunes; and took to the West End stage, replacing Debbie Gibson as Sandy in Grease.
She also starred as Cinderella in the ITV Christmas pantomime alongside Harry Hill, Alexander Armstrong, Frank Skinner, Paul Merton, Ronnie Corbett, and others. She then came 21st in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll in 1998 and 41st in 1999, a famous choice for photo shoots in men’s magazines such as FHM.
She also appeared as one of the celebrity contestants on the BBC show The Magicians, working with magician Chris Korn and in 2021, she acted with Harry Potter, actress Jessie Cave in the British sitcom Buffering.
However, Benjamin Womack’s mother toured across the United Kingdom playing Morticia in the stage musical The Addams Family. She planned a career in singing initially and represented the United Kingdom in the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest.
She had a song for the contest, “A Message to Your Heart”. It was released in April 1991 as her first (and only) single and it reached No. 30 in the UK Singles Chart and was placed 10th in the contest with a total of 47 points.
In 1997, Benjamin Thomas Womack’s mother got married to an Italian citizen Jun fan Mantovani after a long relationship but they separated in 1998. She also married Liverpool 1 co-star Mark Womack in n 16 May 2009.
They have two children, Benjamin Thomas Womack born in 2001, and Lili-Rose Womack born in 2005. Samantha Womack announced that she and Mark got divorced quietly in 2018, however, they are still living together in the same house with their children.
Benjamin Womack’s father on the other hand appeared in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale as DI Mark Malone in 2020. He was born Mark Edward Womack on January 9, 1961, in Liverpool, England. He was born to Frances and Tom Womack and has a younger brother Paul and a younger sister Louise. He attended high school in Childwall, Liverpool, and later attended RADA, London.
