Miel Celeste’s mother, Tara Cynara Newley was born on 12 October 1963 in New York City, U.S but stayed in Paris for two years. She is an American-born English broadcaster, producer, and writer who is also known as Tara Newley Arkle. She enrolled in The American College in Paris, where her poetry and journalism was first publicized, and later studied English, French, and Russian literature and poetry at Harvard when she attended Boston University with Helen Vendler.

The mother of Miel Celeste was a Tv presenter and recording artist in the early 1990s who got signed to Boy George’s More Protein label with Virgin and wrote the lyrics and sang on the E-Zee Possee single “Breathing Is E-Zee”, which went to No. 72 on the UK Singles Chart in 1991. She released the single “Save Me from Me” on ZTT Records and had recordings such as a duet with her father on a version of “Why”.She was also a presenter for shows like the music show Juice (Season 1 & 2), Club Vegetarian, The Style Guide, and then Celebrity.

On radio, Miel Celeste’s mom presented Capital Radio with Neil Fox, Talk Radio, Radio 5, LBC, GLR, France Culture Radio, and Viva! , as a radio presenter. She was the writer for the Daily Mail and Good Health Magazine and had an online column titled “Sex in the Country” as a columnist and as a journalist, wrote for OK!, the Daily Express, and The Sunday Times. She also provided voice-over work for children’s shows like The Cubeez and The Fimbles, as well as TV shows for Channel 5 and ITV.

Miel Celeste’s mother was the co-founder of Newley Dale Ltd alongside producer John Dale. The Newley Dale Lt d was a content creation company whose clients include Comedy Box and Media. It got the attention of BBC Three for the anarchic sitcom So!.

Miel Celeste’s mother’s poetry appeared under her married name Arkle at the Bristol Poetry Festival in 2014 and The Poetry Shed in 2018. She was longlisted for the National Poetry Prize in 2019 and is currently a poet in residence at Sidcot School, North Somerset.
