Camelia Donnelly’s brother was born Declan Joseph Oliver ‘Dec’ Donnelly on 25 September 1975, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He enrolled at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Primary School, as well as enrolled at the all-boys St Cuthbert’s High School, and got 8 GCSEs.

He considered being a Catholic priest but later had a change of mind upon seeing the students from the all-girls Sacred Heart Catholic High School. He mentioned that he is a practicing Roman Catholic but does not publicly discuss religion or his family in depth.

Camelia Donnelly’s brother had his TV career commenced at age 12. Declan Donnelly’s father was the one who suggested that he audition for Byker Grove which was advertised in local newspapers, a new children’s television program being created by CBBC in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Declan Donnelly secured the role of Duncan, whereupon he first met Anthony McPartlin and they worked together on the show until eventually departing in 1993 and bonded as friends, socially and professionally.

The two, Declan and McPartlin became famous in the children’s drama series Byker Grove as well as established a successful career as TV presenters. They are greatly recognized for presenting SMTV Live between the years 1998 to 2001, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (since 2002), and Britain’s Got Talent (since 2007).

Camelia’s brother was also best known as one half of the English acting and TV presenting duo Ant & Dec, alongside Anthony McPartlin.Ant & Dec have their own production company Mitre Television where their shows are produced.

He is again notable alongside McPartlin for presenting PokerFace, Push the Button, Pop Idol, and Red or Black?, being hosts of charity appeal Text Santa (between 2011 and 2014), and also performing as pop music duo PJ & Duncan. Declan and McPartlin signed a 2½ year, £30 million contract with ITV in the year 2007.

Camelia Donnelly’s brother was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2016 Birthday Honours for services to broadcasting and entertainment. He has received numerous television awards and has been nominated for or awarded with, primarily while working alongside Anthony McPartlin as Ant & Dec.

Donnelly and McPartlin are patrons of the charity Sunshine Fund and Ant & Dec donated their single’s success ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble, which reached No.1 to the charity ChildLine as well as supported the Text Santa appeal. Donnelly supports the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle’s Youth Ministry Team, directed by his older brother, Dermott Donnelly. They opened the W4 Youth Centre in 2013.

Camelia Donnelly’s brother dated actress Clare Buckfield for ten years (1993-2003). He was in a relationship with television presenter Georgie Thompson ( January 2009 to April 2011). He got engaged to the duo’s manager Ali Astall on 13 November 2014.

They were in a relationship for more than a year. Their wedding happened at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Elswick, Tyne, and Wear, on 1 August 2015, and the union was conducted by his brother, Father Dermott Donnelly, a Catholic priest, with McPartlin as his best man. The couple was expecting their first child. They gave birth to a daughter, named Isla Elizabeth Anne.
