Patrick Roy Jana Roy was born Patrick Jacques Roy. He began his professional career with the Sherbrooke Canadiens of the American Hockey League (AHL). He had an interest in being an ice hockey goalie when he was at the age of seven years. Patrick Roy stands at 6 ft 2 in (188 cm) tall and weighs 190 lb (86 kg; 13 st 8 lb). Roy is the older brother of Stéphane Roy.
Patrick played for Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche and coached for Colorado Avalanche. Roy had been the head coach of the Avalanche since the 2013–14 season. He split his playing career in the National Hockey League (NHL) between the Montreal Canadiens, with whom he played for 11 years, and the Colorado Avalanche, with whom he played for eight years.
He played in the 1977 and 1978 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments on a minor ice hockey team from Quebec City and then played for the local Sainte-Foy Gouverneurs. He also played for the Granby Bisons of the QMJHL(Quebec Major Junior Hockey League).

Patrick Roy was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history in 2017 and won four Stanley Cups during his career, two with each franchise. He also won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s best coach. He was nicknamed “Saint Patrick”. He was elected the greatest goaltender in NHL history by a panel of 41 writers, coupled with a simultaneous fan poll in the year 2004, and was also inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 13, 2006.
Again, Roy was the only player in NHL history to win the Conn Smythe Trophy three times. He was the only one who won the Conn Smythe Trophy in different decades, and the only one to do so for two teams.

Patrick Roy was married to Michèle Piuze on June 9, 1990, but unfortunately, they got divorced in early 2003, and Roy has not remarried yet.
